Case Study #11
Isikli Tabela
Illuminated signage manufacturer in Istanbul — neon signs, LED signs, lightboxes, and corporate branding. The most visually distinctive signage site in the Turkish market.
The Brief
Isikli Tabela is an illuminated signage manufacturer based in Istanbul — producing neon signs, LED channel letters, backlit lightboxes, and custom corporate branding for retail and hospitality clients across Turkey. The existing site was a generic WordPress theme with stock photography and no local SEO.
The goal was to rebuild the site in a way that matched the premium, high-craft nature of the product — illuminated signs are luxury items for many clients, not commodity purchases. The design needed to convey quality before the visitor read a single word, and the SEO needed to capture Istanbul-specific purchase intent queries.
The Approach
Dark cinematic design as the primary differentiator. No other signage site in Turkey uses this aesthetic — the category is dominated by white backgrounds, clip art, and contact forms from 2012. Standing out visually in a crowded SERP is itself an SEO signal: higher click-through rate from impression to visit signals relevance.
Lokal SEO targeting Istanbul districts, following the same geographic-specificity approach documented across other sites in this portfolio and consistent with the broader methodology at /methodology applied to a physical-world service.
Tech Stack
- Frontend: Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
- Design: Deep navy/black backgrounds, gold/white typography, cinematic photography
- Hosting: Vercel
- Analytics: Google Search Console + Google Business Profile
- Monetization: Lead generation (WhatsApp integration)
- Schema: LocalBusiness, Product, BreadcrumbList per service/district page
- Local SEO: Istanbul district pages (Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Fatih, etc.)
The Build
The design system was built before a single product page was written. Deep navy and black backgrounds, high-contrast gold and white typography, full-width cinematic hero images shot on-location at the workshop. The constraint was that every design element had to work both as a brand statement and as a conversion tool — the goal is leads, not admiration.
Lokal SEO architecture covers Istanbul's major districts — Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Fatih, Beyoğlu, Ümraniye, Bağcılar, and more. Each district gets a dedicated landing page with a LocalBusiness schema specifying the service area, district-specific imagery where available, and a “Get a quote in [district]” CTA. A buyer searching “ışıklı tabela kadıköy” lands on the Kadıköy page, not a generic homepage.
Lead generation is the sole monetization path — no e-commerce, no product catalogue with prices. The business model for custom signage doesn't fit a product listing format; every job is bespoke. The CTA on every page is a single WhatsApp integration that opens a pre-filled message with the visitor's district and product interest. WhatsApp conversion rates for Turkish B2B/B2C service queries are significantly higher than contact form submissions.

What I'd Do Differently
The dark design system makes Google PageSpeed scores harder to achieve. Hero images that are large, full-width, and high-resolution are central to the design language — but they are also the primary source of Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) issues on mobile. The design was built before the performance optimization layer was established.
The fix is straightforward: WebP compression, responsive image srcsets, and explicit width/height attributes on hero images to prevent layout shift. These should have been built into the image component from day one, not retrofitted. The technical debt from neglecting image optimization is ongoing page speed score pressure.
